[ARCHIVED] Final Days of Yard Waste Pickup

Acceptable Yard Waste Includes

- Leaves and dry grass clippings

- Yard and garden debris and brush

- Clean woody vegetation material no greater than 6 inches in diameter and not to exceed 4 feet in length

- No more than 60 pounds in total weight


Not Acceptable Yard Waste Includes

- Vegetables

- Stumps

- Sod, dirt, or roots

- Shrubs with intact root balls

- Pumpkins, cornstalks, apples and black walnuts can be included with the regular garbage pickup

- Anything residentially generated


Acceptable Yard Waste Containers Include

- 30 gallon paper bags

- Dry cardboard boxes no larger than 3x3 feet

- Other easy-to-handle containers no larger than 3x3 feet

- Metal or plastic garbage can no larger than 32 gallons in size and marked with a red X


Placement and Presentation of Yard Waste

- Curbside and visually seperate from refuse and recyclables

- Tree limbs and branches must not exceed 6 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length

- Tree limbs, branches and brush must be tightly bundled and each bundle must not exceed 60 pounds

- Bundle with twine (wire or nylon will not be accepted)

- Plastic bags are prohibited from yard waste collection (they do not compost)

- Containers must be marked with a red X to identify them as yard waste
