[ARCHIVED] Join the 30x30 Kickoff at the Community Center today

Starting June 1st, several employers in the greater Oconomowoc area will begin encouraging their employees to spend 30 minutes a day out in nature. For the third year in a row, several local businesses are coming together to sponsor the U.S. Green Building Council’s 30x30 Nature Challenge.
All are invited to join the nature challenge whether through work or on your own.
Participation in the challenge can result in greater understanding of your interaction with nature and the built environment, as well as build a greater appreciation for natural spaces in our communities. Some studies show that spending time in nature and having natural views can relieve stress, increase memory performance and creativity and improve attention span.

We're celebrating spending more time in nature during the kickoff event June 1.
Head to the lawn of the Community Center at 11:30 June 1 to celebrate. Here's what's in store:
11:30 – 12:10: Enjoy free paddleboat rides complimentary of the City of Oconomowoc Park and Recreation Dept. Bring your lunch and picnic blanket with you, dine on the lawn net to the Community Center while taking in the picturesque shores of Lac La Belle. Other wellness activities include walking around the lake during your lunch hour!

12:15 - 12:30: Kick off press event highlighting local businesses that are participating in the 30x30 Nature Challenge {located at pergola behind Community Center in front of Lac La Belle}
