The City’s Zoning Ordinance contains detailed descriptions of zoning districts and specifies what uses are allowed, prohibited, and conditional in each zone. The Zoning Ordinance is indented to cover all types of land use issues, which may arise, but in cases where a land use is not listed, a process for interpretation of the code is provided.
The ordinance also contains procedures for various land use matters. The Planning Department is responsible for enforcing the Zoning Ordinance and updating the City’s Zoning Map which details what zoning category each portion of the city has been designated. Planning Staff are available to assist the public in understanding the code.
