It’s never too early to celebrate Valentine’s Day and the Oconomowoc Arts Center’s Cabaret Café has the perfect way to spend a cold winter’s evening with Tale Spin.
The music of Tale Spin offers an old-timey feel with contemporary rhythms and fresh interpretations of well-known songs. With Ken Schmidt on guitar, vocals and harmonica, Kim McKisick Monroe on violin, Amy Schmidt on accordion and mykul j steinke (mykulanjelo) on bass and vocals, the group captivates audiences with a treasure trove of their own arrangements of old country, Americana and Appalachian music, folk, Irish and Scottish tunes and more.
“It’s a great lineup – Van Morrison, Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash, Cold Play – so many classics. It’s a love feast of music,” said mykulanjelo. “The music is so well-written and fantastic, we just want to put our own spin on it and be a part of its history. We really try to personalize it and display who we are through the music.”
